Jo-Ann Gerde – Steinway Studies Exhibition

In celebration of the purchase by the Chelmsford Center for the Arts of a new Steinway B concert grand for its newly renovated chamber music hall,  Jo-Ann Gerde asked to photograph the piano as part of a series of studies she has done of musical instruments.  The series of our Steinway will be on display in the auditorium through May 30, 2013.  The exhibition is open sundays 2-4 pm, Thursdays 5-7 pm and by appointment by calling 978-250-3780.

Coming Attractions at the CCA…May… Art for Everyone in the Heart of Chelmsford!

Thursdays 5:30-7:30 and Sundays 2:00-4:00 pm -  “Now is Your Time to Enlist! Chelmsford in the civil War”  Objects from the Chelmsford Historical Society; in the Promenade Gallery, “The Story of Bluebell”, paintings by Donna Berger and paintings of Rita Thompson and Trina Teele, Artists-in-Residence; in the Auditorium “The Steinway Series”, photographs of the CCA Steinway B by Jo-Ann Gerde.

Sat., May 18 at 7 pm and 8 pm – The premiere of Fred Barzyk’s newest film “The Treasure Hunt”, free and open to the public.

Fri., May 24, 7 pm – Fourth Friday Acoustic Coffeehaus Open Mic hosted by Ruth Canonico with a special Feature.  Bring the family to listen or play.  This month’s feature Kate Chadbourne, Singer, Storyteller, Songwriter and Poet.  $5 at the door

The CCA Gallery is curated by Mary Woodward and Rita Thompson.  The Gallery Hours are Sundays 2-4 pm, Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 pm, the first Friday of the month is the opening of that month’s show from 5:30-7:30 pm.  The Gallery is also open by appointment and at intermission during performances in Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium.

MAY

Now is Your Time to Enlist! Chelmsford in the Civil War 

This exhibit is in connection with the Chelmsford Historical Society.  On May 11 the CCA, Barrett-Byam House, Garrison House, and All Saints’ Episcopal Church Historic Chapel will be open for tours from 10 am to 4 pm with a focus on the American Civil War.
